How much does weekly service cost? The rate can vary widely based on the following: size of the pool location in relation to the rest of the route amount of trees and other pool surroundings type of pool surrounding type of sanitizer required auto-cleaner / auto-vacuum presence average usage expected Due to all these variables, it is necessary to give you an on-site quote for weekly pool service.
-
Is weekly service needed in the winter?YES and NO In some parts of the country the pool will be "closed" in late fall and "opened" in the beginning of spring. This is to avoid damage due to freezing. In southern California however the pools can remain open during this time. Although you may not use your pool in the winter, mother nature does. Rain will alter chemical balance, and wind brings in lots of dust and debris that will add phosphates and contribute to algae growth. It is HIGHLY recommended you keep your pool serviced year round either by us or another pool service company.

Why do I get algae, and how do I get rid of it?Algae can be caused by many different things, such as: low or no chlorine high pH high stabalizer phosphates nitrates sulfates iron low stabalizer or a combination of any of these. Have us irradiate your algae and determine the root cause of these issues that have made the algae bloom to begin with.

Do I need to drain my pool?Over time some chemicals can rise and need to be reduced. Some of these however can only be reduced by mechanical means. These are TDS, calcium, nitrates, sulfates, and most commonly stabilizer. There is a "stabilizer reducer" product. Most techs in the industry, including myself, have not had much luck with this product however and it is not recommended. The other option is a reverse osmosis truck to come and recycle your pool water. This could be a viable option if restrictions apply to your water usage. Although In general it is easier, faster, and less expensive to just drain and refill with fresh water.
-
How long should I run my pool pump? This is something you should leave for your pool service technician, but to answer the question it is determined by the size of your pool, The total dynamic head of your system, the flow capacity of your filter, if you have a salt system, bather load, and your pumps type and horsepower rating. A rule of thumb is 8-10 hours a day in summer and 6-8 hours in the off season.

Why should we hire AAA Premier Pool Services? This answer may surprise you, but sometimes the answer is you shouldn't. When we give a quote for weekly service and we find your current pool tech is doing a good job, we will encourage you to keep him/her employed. There are plenty of pool boys out there that don't know what they are doing, and we LOVE to take on those pools. However helping other pool techs who are good at what they do not only helps you, but improves our industry. Mechanics, Car salesmen, and Pool guys all get a bad wrap, we want to change that. Let us give you a free pool inspection with report and see if you have the right person for the job of keeping your pool clean and safe for you and your family.

What is mastic and why is it importantAs seen in the picture above, there is an expansion joint between the coping and the deck. Mastic, commonly called Deck-O-Seal, is the elastomeric polymer that seals this joint from water intrusion. If this joint is not sealed water tight, it could cause the deck or coping to move up or down, or cause tiles to start popping off. This damage can be much more costly than replacing the mastic when it is cracked or separating. Protect your investment and keep your mastic in good shape!
