Algae: Removal & Prevention
Most pool owners and even some pool guys will try and battle algae with adding algaecide, this is a mistake. Algaecide is a bandaid and a crutch for uneducated pool boys. Algaecide may be needed in 1% of the problem pools out there, but not until addressing the underlying reasons the algae grew in the first place. Not only that, but Algaecides are usually based on copper, a heavy metal, some may love heavy metal in their ears, but not something you want in your pool.
